Tui extends block on Spanish holidays but adds more flights to Greece and Turkey to meet demand
Tour operator Tui has extended the suspension of holidays to the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands for UK customers until August 4.
Holidays to mainland Spain remain cancelled until August 10.
The tour operator will increase flights to Greece and Turkey this weekend to enable more affected customers to switch their destinations.
It criticised the blanket quarantine policy for the whole of Spain when the outbreaks have reported in isolated locations and urged ministers to work with the sector to provide a solution.

Andrew Flintham, managing director of Tui UK and Ireland, said: "We call upon the UK Government to work closely with the travel industry and remove the ‘blunt tool’ approach to quarantine and consider the rapid introduction of regional travel corridors.
"The level of uncertainty and confusion created this week is damaging for business and customer confidence in travel."
He claimed holidaymakers still wanted their summer breaks and confirmed the tour operator had added seven new flights to destinations in Greece and Turkey to meet demand from those whose Spanish holidays had been cancelled.
